Settling down?

When a person decides to get married, they say, they want to settle down. Why? Settling down has such a negative tone. Why attach it to such an important decision of your life. Why settle down, when you can elevate yourself. I don’t want to settle down ever in my life. My idea of marriage is not settling down, it’s much more than that. Getting married is a very big event of our life, and it should be a positive one. Our partner should be the one elevating us.
